Niki de Saint Phalle. The joy of living

June 24th to October 31st 2010

The work of Niki de Saint Phalle sets hearts alight, upsets wills and essentially arouses unique and extraordinary emotions in everyone who comes into contact with her art.

Feminism, mythology, violence, personal longing and politics: the whole range of subject matter emanating from the creations of Niki de Saint Phalle will decorate the rooms of the Tobacco Museum with her proposal of irrepressible works in continuous metamorphosis, of cries for freedom, and of disregarded convention. This is a brief description of the subjects dealt with in the works exhibited in ‘The Joy of Living’, which includes not only famous masterpieces, but also lesser-known works by one of the most original and non-conformist artists of the 20th century.
